Read full description of the books Jack Riordan's Baby:

Illustrator has been grieving her 3 consecutive miscarriages & maintained separate rooms from her workaholic husband Hero for the past 2 years of their marriage. Her 2 years of self-imposed celibacy ends after his former employee informs her that she’s pregnant with his baby & heroine should give him a divorce. Heroine seduces Hero that same night in the hope of conceiving another baby. When Hero finds out her motives for sleeping with him, he leaves for Ireland to stay with his parents for a few weeks. What heroine doesn’t know is that his Ireland trip is primarily due to his doctor’s orders to relax or else worsen his heart condition. Can these 2 have a future together given all their problems?

Another Mather book where the heroine acted like a jerk to Hero. This heroine was very self-absorbed & obsessed with how others viewed her. As a result, she made decisions after decisions that hurt Hero. Her decision to close herself off from him emotionally & physically stemmed from her not wanting others to see her failing to have a successful pregnancy again. It was all about her. She didn’t even consider that Hero would also grieve their pregnancy losses. She didn’t consider his needs for intimacy nor did she discuss her fears of becoming pregnant again. She just left him out in the cold. So I completely understood his anger with her when she seduced him 2 years later. It was manipulated to appease her desire to have another baby. She was completely clueless & indifferent to his needs & wants. She missed the signs of his arrhythmia that stemmed from continual stress & overwork.

Hero played the male version of a doormat. He suffered through heroine’s self-centeredness silently. He sought work as his distraction from stress at home. He played his part in their 2-year estrangement. He didn’t discuss what was going on with her or between them. He allowed her to dismiss him & he found solace at work. It’s not surprising that he weakened 1 day & sought the company of an attractive & very interested employee. Nothing happened since he had his 1st arrhythmia attack when he got to her door. He didn’t discuss being stalked by his former employee or his heart problems. He feared rocking the boat even more with heroine.

I wished that Mather didn’t end this book with heroine’s successful pregnancy. It would’ve shown how strong their love was to endure such disappointment together & would’ve been a great chance to show character growth for heroine. The way the book ended left me in doubt about a happy & healthy future for the main characters. But maybe having their baby will erase all their problems…Not!

Doesn't bode well for a happily-ever-after.

Ebook Jack Riordan's Baby read Online! Mildred Grieveson was born on October 10, 1946 in England. She had writtenall through her infant and junior years and on into her teens, the storieschanging from children's adventures to torrid gypsy passions. Her motherused to gather these up from time to time, when her bedroom became toountidy, and dispose of them!

Mildred has always wanted to write - which is not to say she has alwayswanted to be a professional writer. One the contrary, for years She wroteonly for her own pleasure, and it wasn't until her husband suggested thatShe ought to send one of her stories to a publisher that they put severalpublishers names into a hat and pulled one out. The trouble was, She neverused to finish any of the stories, and Caroline, her first published book as Anne Mather, was the first book she'd actually completed. She was newlymarried then, and her daughter was just a baby, and it was quite a jobjuggling her household chores and scribbling away in exercise books everychance She got. Not very professional, as you can see, but that's the way itwas. The rest as they say in history. And now, more than 160 books later,She's literally - excuse the pun - staggered by what happened. She alsopublished books as Caroline Fleming or Cardine Fleming. Her Anne Mather'snovel, Leopard in the Snow, was developed into a 1978 movie.

Mildred now has two grown-up children, a son and daughter, and two adorablegrandchildren, Abigail and Ben.
