Read full description of the books The Duke's Deception:

The Duke's Deception is a 8000 words free short story --- and unfortunately, this is the type of short story in which I thought suffered due to its length. I enjoy short stories, sometimes they can make great impact in such limitation (*cough Josh Lanyon's Perfect Day cough*). But this felt more like excerpts from a novel. What I got was incomplete and I was left making up answers to fill in the information gaps.

Larkin was a duke who got roped into working for the Royal family as some sort of a spy, in order to find out more about illegal drug trading operation, because his father left a lot of debt (?). I wonder if the father's debt was to the Royal family? It said that Larkin had been working for a year, so to speak, was it because he could easily pass as drug addict, or was it because he could pose as someone needed a money to pay the debt to royal family so he could work as drug distributor? Anyway, that part REALLY wasn't clear enough for me. And uhm, so Prince Garnett seemed to be attracted to Larkin ... how did they meet? Was it because of their 'royal' family circle, that Larkin was a duke so he played around with the Prince a lot?

In conclusion, I liked the 'tidbits' that was offered here, but I thought this could be SO MUCH better if it was longer and was eloborated deeply regarding Larkin and Garnett's connection and romance, in addition to Larkin's secret work.
