Read full description of the books Stevie Tenderheart My Favorite Place to Be...a Bedtime Story:Summary: A little boy who simply loves his bed and wishes he could take it everywhere he goes. Let the adventures begin... This is the first book in the Stevie Tenderheart series. (A First Edition) This is a fresh and delightful bedtime story with a great message... The author uses a wonderful cadence making it fun to read to your child. Let's be honest, reading the same book to your child, night after night, must be fun for you too. This particular bedtime story will put "you" and your children to sleep--it's that good! Many animals fill the pages (monkeys, panda, deer, rabbit, fish, dogs, cat, lion, moose, goose and cow, etc.) all with smiles and great faces. This is a fun book written by a new author who traded in his comic strip to write children's books. There are 20 beautiful, expressive illustrated pages that are married to this darling little story in a way that is cute, thoughtful and truly gentle in helping you put your children to bed. It is meant as a BEDTIME STORY not for general reading during the day. Why? Because it will have you yawning by page three; doing "exactly" what it was designed to do. Stevie takes his bed on many adventures. Absolutely guaranteed to make your child giggle. The art is probably a little too good, making this story not so much of a page-turner. Young eyes love the detail and the colors and the expressions of the animals and will remain fascinated on the page long after you've read the words. Fathers, it's never too late to read to your daughters...
Read information about the authorAll roads lead to Camp Tenderheart.
I met both Walt Disney and Robert F. Kennedy in my youth.
Writing children's books is my passion because I've seen the results of my work in the smiles & giggles of children. I think they really like the illustrations too. Maybe even more than my story. Oh No.
NBC affiliate (KOBI-TV) interview (See Video to your left.) Hey, it wasn't easy being on air with a doll on my lap. But at least I had a pretty good hair day. (BIGSMILE)
I founded The Million Pillow Pledge (NOW the BRAVE KIDS BOOKS PLEDGE) three years ago so people can donate my books and also friends of Stevie books, to very brave children in hospitals throughout the country & in some cases also keep my royalties. Getting Stevie books & dolls into the hands of children who are confined to their beds really does lift their spirits.
Eventually, I hope to build Camp Tenderheart. (Once I make something of myself) & after Disney/Pixar greenlights my screenplay, Stevie Tenderheart Presents: The Misadventures of Mischievous Stevie.
After 5 years of doing my comic strip, & the birth of my first grandson, Dylan, I felt it was the right time to end the strip & write more. Besides, I wanted to expand my thoughts outside the confines of a tight panel.
I write from pure instinct.
I felt the world could use kindhearted children's bedtime stories about my character, Stevie Tenderheart.
I also published companion coloring books. In the foreword of my first coloring book, I wrote a short story about my meeting with Walt Disney when I was maybe 5 or 6. I am sure that imprinted me in ways I still may not fully understand.
I just completed the 2nd edition to my first book & lowered the price so more families can afford it.
I also just completed my 2nd Stevie book, WAIT A MINUTE! and its companion coloring book.
Both bedtime stories are about how much Stevie loves his bed. (That part is non-fiction.) In the first storybook, Stevie takes his bed everywhere he goes, or wishes he could go or imagines the places he'd like to travel to.
In WAIT A MINUTE! Stevie keeps his bed at home but fills his bed with all of his favorite things instead. Very fun story to write. I really do enjoy writing because I am creating and that keeps me vibrant, happy and young.
All three storybooks are also eBooks and soon audiobooks (Audible.com & iTunes).
Writing is the easy part. The real challenge here is finding a readership who enjoys my style/humor. If I can rise to the top of my field, I will really have accomplished something great.
I have tried some interesting things to gain a national platform, such as auditioning for reality television & being selected 7 times as a semi-finalist for Big Brother & Survivor.
Of most notable worth, especially for those who Google me, yes, I really did run for president of the United States in the last election. I formed my own party & wrote my own innovative platform that if implemented, would change America for the better. It totally addresses the middle-class & strengthens families as never before. And you know what? I actually garnered some votes! Crazy right? (www.kodelparty.us)
I didn't get it all right, but I did create some innovative ideas. See the brainstorming page.
I retired from the United States Air Force (Captain) after a 22-year distinguished career. I served as both enlisted & officer. I was lauded as the outstanding administrator of the year; served under Ronald Reagan's White House as Chief of Administration/USAF Honor Guard; three years with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Pentagon).
I learned to golf & water ski in Hawaii on a five year assignment with the Commander-and-Chief, Pacific (CINCPAC) at Camp H.M. Smith.
I was nominated for a White House Fellowship under the Clinton Administration.
My last tour of duty was as a squadron section commander (Korea) supporting two F-16 fighter squadrons.
