Journey to the Crossroads of Science and Myth--A CYGNUS Award-Winning novel.
The New Leprosy plague and a geomagnetic reversal threaten the world’s precarious balance. When jaded American expat Peter Mitchell agrees to transport mysterious Ariadne Demodakis to sacred sites in the Greek islands, the sailor convinces himself it’s just another "freelance import" job. But when his passenger is pursued by the terrorist Sons of the Prophet, pharmaceutical mercenaries, and a cult of warrior women, Peter realizes there's more to the young bioelectricity researcher than he first believed. Then paparazza Leeza Conreid blackmails her way onto the boat, intent on sabotage, and Peter is ready to walk away from the deal.
But "Saint Ariadne" seems to be healing plague victims with her touch. And she defuses an earthquake. She might even have found a connection between the pandemic and overexposure to electromagnetic emissions.
Peter may be giving in to hopeless madness, finally accepting that life on earth is doomed. Or maybe he's finding hope for the first time in years. Insane or inspired, he's committed to getting Ariadne to Delphi—to the ancient Navel of Gaea—where the only chance for humanity's survival is to reset the compass of the world.
"Pulses with admirable energy." -William Dietrich, NY Times bestselling author.

She stays grounded with her native-plant restoration project in her sprawling Squalicum Creek backyard, shared with wild critters along with her cats, dog, and paleontologist husband Thor Hansen.
Stamey’s "Cybers Wild Card" science fiction novels with Berkley/Ace/Putnam netted a Locus Best First Novels listing along with positive reviews from Publishers Weekly, SF Chronicle, and others. She is listed in databases as an early Cyberpunk author along with Gibson and Stephenson, which tickles her.
More recently, her suspense novel "Islands" won the Chanticleer Paranormal Suspense Award and the Hollywood Book Festival Genre Award, and is described by reviewers as “a page turner from intriguing beginning to end" and "a superior suspense novel… a fast read, a stomping vivid ride.” (New eBook edition is out from Book View Cafe publishing.)

The novel has received the CYGNUS Speculative Fiction Award and the Cygnus Science Fiction Award. “A rocket-paced thrill ride that delivers complex, engaging characters in a laser-sharp plot. [It] takes the reader on a visual feast through the azure waters and rugged Mediterranean landscape of the Greek islands while tapping into the deep roots of mythological tradition.” –Chanticleer Reviews "An ambitious effort that draws connections between humanity's moral compass and the well-being of the planet we live on."
