Read full description of the books Justice League of America, Vol. 7: Team History:Two and a half stars rounded down.
It's a Justice League comic, so let’s have a role call to see who’s in the house:
Wonder Woman? Negative.
The Flash? Sorry, no.
Okay, I’m desperate – Aquaman? No. Whew!
Alright, just who is in the clubhouse:
Vixen. With a broken leg.
Red Tornado. Whoopie! DC’s Vision. Just as exciting, too.
Plastic Man. But he’s all melty, and looks like he’s been out at the beach all day bird dogging women.
Dr. Light. Hot Asian female version, not the angry dead one. But she has a broken arm.
They all bemoan the fact that the Justice League is not quite what it once was. Wah Wah Wah!
Enter: A French speaking Despero to kick some ass!
Despero is dragging along a Justice Leaguer. Is it Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash? No, it’s Gypsy (sans Tramps and Thieves!*).
Who? My point exactly. Her power – pickpocketing tourists.
Oh, Jeff, I think you crossed the line with that one.
So, it’s up to Zatanna (fist pump) to pop in and save the day for these D-listers.
From here it’s on to the hallowed Hall of Justice where we find dead superheroes and a tie-in to the grimmest of crossovers, BLACKEST NIGHT
Wait, readers! Come back! That happens at every mention of BLACKEST NIGHT crossover. *scratches head*
Since James Robinson is scraping the bottom of the barrel heroes-wise, it’s somewhat of a reunion for Justice League Motown (it was a thing, really), except that the dead ones want to rip the hearts out of the living. How touching.
The rest of this book is a blur as Donna Troy tries to do a re-boot of the Justice League, so she asks her pals from the Teen Titans to come and sit at the grown up table.
Highlight: Damian/Robin calling Ms. Troy a harlot and not ending up eating meals via a tube.
After some random and confusing shuffling of members, we finally end up with Donna Troy, Batman (Dick Grayson), a Starman and Congorilla.
*Bonus Cher content – Generous Jeff
